Improving clinical care for people with wounds

International Wound Management Conference

Written by Michael Clark December 6th 2016

Contextualising Wound Management from the Mental Health Perspective. Free to attend.

The conference is a one day wound care event for up to 300 healthcare professionals and focuses upon wound care from the mental health perspective. It is unique and different to the usual wound care conferences as this one contains keynote lectures, and also offers delegates the opportunity to attend wound care clinics where life like simulated wounds will be used on real people and manikins to simulate wounds often seen in mental health settings. These will include wounds such as pressure ulcers, venous leg ulcers, fungating wounds, burns, self-harm and iatrogenic wounds, to name but a few. This will allow those clinicians attending the opportunity to see, feel, dress and discuss management of patients and their wounds; attracting attention to healthcare and general media.
