Patient and Public Involvement (PPI)

Philip Bell has agreed to help the WWN develop its Patient and Public Involvement in the development of our Network.  Philip has extensive experience in PPI and reviews funding applications for the National Institute for Health Research and the Medical Research Council and currently sits on the funding panels for the NIHR i4i streams.  He is a member of the Trial Steering Committee for PRESSUR2 (pressure relieving support surfaces), a RCT being carried out by the Clinical Trials Research Unit at the University of Leeds.  He is a member of various service user groups and has co-authored several reports including

'What difference does patient and public involvement make and what are its pathways to impact?  Qualitative study of patients and researchers from a systematic cohort of randomised clinical trials'.
